A fantastic setting, the unique climate of Sicily in winter, an extremely varied and fascinating landscape in every corner have welcomed the riders of Trek Segafredo cycling team arriving at Il Pìcciolo Etna Golf Resort & SPA, in Castiglione di Sicilia, where they stopped for ten days of hard training for the new season. An important appointment born from the partnership that binds the group to the prestigious cycling team. With enthusiasm, the JSH group has hosted the whole team in its resort at the foot of the great volcano, between lava flows and hazelnut woods where winter struggles to arrive, and on the horizon the snowy peaks of the might Mount Etna. For the occasion, the management of the cycling team brought together new and old sponsors and, as in the best American films, put them in contact with each other, with the aim of evaluating future business. These included Trek’s top managers coming straight from the United States, CA Technlologies’ President, Segafredo Zanetti’s top management, Monica Santini as Santini Maglificio Sportivo’s representative, and this year the team’s new technical sponsor. The training camp is also the moment when the athletes involved in training can provide the Trek engineers with immediate feedback on the driveability, lightness, performance and reactivity of the new range of racing cycles, which will then be used during the new season. A large operational machine, coordinated by General Manager Luca Guercilena, brought together 28 riders from the pro team and 30 staff members, all under the same sky. A multilingual retreat that takes place only once a year, in December, and sees the involvement of men who normally remain behind the scenes, as well as machinery, tools, and avant-garde video cameras. Taking part in such an appointment means understanding fully what a cycling training camp is. We test the bikes and the technical products that will soon be launched on the market, define the training tables and the competition program, and produce the photos and videos that will be used for communication.
